ParentSMART began in 1995 as a mandate from the South Carolina State Department of Education under Act 135.
- The mandate stated that all school districts in the state would create Parent Education programs to support parents in their role as their child’s best and first teacher.
- Since 1995, ParentSMART has grown into much more, supporting families in their role as their child’s most influential teacher.

Please join me in congratulating Robin on being selected as ParentSMART & Sylvia Circle’s Support Person of the Year.
It is with great pleasure that we recognize our lead custodian, Robin Eades, for the invaluable contributions and tireless work she does behind the scenes at Sylvia Circle.
She makes an impact daily. She not only ensures that our classrooms are clean, but she does it day in and day out, all the while keeping her friendly disposition.
Her warm smile and kind demeanor brighten the days of students, teachers, and staff alike. In moments of chaos and urgency, Robin is there.
Whether it's a spill in the cafeteria or an accident in the classroom, she responds swiftly and efficiently, ensuring that hazards are promptly cleaned, and normalcy is restored.
Her quick action not only reduces potential risks but also demonstrates her unwavering dedication to the safety and comfort of everyone.
She goes above and beyond on a daily basis to assist without hesitation. For these reasons, we have selected Robin Eades as our Support Person of the Year.
